my new closest to the house find
the top pic was found about a mile from the house. i have walked this stretch of creek a handful of times with no luck, usually i would have gi ven up on a spot that i continuesly go home empty handed, but i drive by it everyday it actually runs behind my house, so of course im not going to give up on it. this was probably my tenth trip on this stretch of creek and finally got one. the middle adena point was a field find, found it on fathers day. now that i think about it ive had some of my best luck on holidays. the bottom pic which i think is a thebes, was found thisevening on one of my favorite creeks. as always, would like to hear your opinions. thanks mike,

You must have seen some flint in that creek behind the house? It paid off in the end with a dandy. Holidays are lucky except if you water hunt.
Nice finds all 3.

Re: my new closest to the house find
thanks on the kind words. youll have to forgive on that id on the last pic, i think i was mistaken. that base kinda threw me off. is it possible that on some types such as thebes, that the point is worked down so much and the base is untouched. turning a thebes(corner-notch) into a side-notch?? ive got a couple points that fit this description. would like to hear your thoughts.

I think you're right on with Thebes, and I think it's a good example of your explanation above. I shouldn't have said side notch, that probably through you off. Most typical thebes are corner notched but the E-notched variety has unusual notching that is more side notched than corner notched imo.

very nice finds!!the bottom piece is probably a enotch, and yes they are sharpened down often. The first pic that you found creekn has a fractured base dovetail look to it, can you post another pic of it where the point is up and down in relation to the screen??Creekin requires alot of patience, some of my best spots that are real good can be stingy sometimes so you can never give up on a spot especially if you know there were campsites in the vacinity.Goodluck in the water!!
aint gonna find any heads sittin on the couch
