    Hunting For 30 Years

I've lived in Pa. Central NJ and now in Cumberland County NJ. While in central NJ I was lucky enough to hunt a Revolutionary War battle field & made many nice finds. On and off over those years I've also been looking for Indian artifacts, to date I've never found one. I live now in a area of NJ that hasn't changed much or developed much. Greenwich is a big American Indian area and many a large collection has come from there. In the past, I know that a few dug out canoes have been found in the swamps around me (seems hard to believe). In Bridgeton up the road many artifacts have been collected with a big camp located on the bluff over looking the river. Rt 49 was part of in places one of the larger Indian pats from the states interior to the coast in Cape May. I've spend many hours looking and walking the fields & beaches along the Delaware Bay looking, but in over 30 years of looking, I've found nothing.

    Re: Hunting For 30 Years

wow sorry guys you have had that luck. I can only think of a few times in the last 5 years that I have gone and come home empty handed. Most digs I get at least 2-4 each trip and fields anywhere from 2-3 up to 20 or so if I'm really lucky.
Maybe you need to take a look at why you are hunting the areas you hunt.
May need to find some more promising places.

    Good luck with the hunting!!!

yea Ive had a lot of ppl wanting to as well. right now though, this area I am gonna have to keep very limited for privacy for the owners/lessees of the property. They had to run off some guerrilla diggers a few years ago.
I feel extremely lucky in having gotten permission to be here.

i know a couple of fields, about 20 minutes from you, that produce for me just about every time i go. your def in the right part of the state to still find artifacts. you live in the town where the lenape had their only source of cohancey quartzite. there's an old quarry on wharton creek in greenwich. pm me, and i'll show you some spots sometime.
