    brother found huge agate basin

    my brother found this creek stomping in cental iowa. we think agate basin. what do you think? it is 6 3/4 inches long.

    Are the base edges ground smooth? If so then it's more than likely an Agate Basin and a very nice one at that.

    it has heavy basal grinding two and half inches from the bottom down. it is lighter colored on that part also

    Do you have better photos of that piece. I would like to see a pic that shows the flaking better and also one that shows the thickness.

    Just a few criteria from Tnet regarding potential Banner finds:

    "If the post is one of the members first, it is less likely to be selected"

    "Finds must look good in the Banner"

    "Significant and Plausible", "recent", "posts with great stories"

    I think some quality photos of this piece would pay dividends, it's as nice a blade as I've ever seen but, I'd like to see it better. My vote is pending
