    Flea market finds,need some help.

    Been looking at the beauty you guys find for mounths now.Hard to find any here in new england you may find one or two while detecting if your lucky.But last weekend I came across 3 cases of some small points and picked them up.I was hoping you guy could Help me ID them.Would like to know were and about how old they are.They all look to be all old napped and real.Thanks for any help.Brandy

    Brandy, you can use the link below and probably ID most of what you have there. I have a feeling they aren't all from your area in Massachusetts though. The Stemmed Point beside the coin in picture #3 looks like a Gary Point which is a Texas/Missouri/Arkansas/Oklahoma area type. The ones with a rounded base look to be Nodenas and are more of a midwestern type. The triangle types could be Levannas which are from your area. Also, from what I can see from your pictures everything looks good to me as far as being an old authentic piece. The only one I might question is the center piece in frame #2. Something about that Point just doesn't look right.

    they have some really nice points... but they may not always be quite true to type... ie. the type might be an Adena but made out of an exotic stone... not the same type of stone as an historical point.

    for exact cast replicas of archaic points you can visit http://lithiccastinglab.com

    but i don't know offhand where to purchase certified archaic points.
