Indian Artifact? What is it?

I found this in a junk store close to where I worked and thought it was interesting. I would love to know what it is so any information would be great. The rock is flat on one side. Thanks

Yes, that is indeed an artifact. I have found a couple pieces like yours and was told they were used as a hoe. It could possibly be a bannerstone preform but the material your piece is made of would suggest that it is probably a hoe.

It is either a Hoe or a Notched Flint Axe. Either way it is definitely an artifact.
