    Need ID help... please

I found this yesterday in a creek off of a river in OK. I was in the middle of piles of sandstone and flintrock and this was laying on the top after a light rain and some washout.

If you look, it has nothches and seems to have had something around it also due to the difference in the color of the stone.

    Any help would be appreciated....!

Looks pretty cool, but doesnt look like anything I've ever seen to help identify it!

A guess on my part would be the start of an abstract bird stone. They are frequently drilled on the corners and the material looks to be too hard and broke in the process, leaving the grooves. At that point the process was abandoned, but there is slight evidence of a pecking spot in the one picture which may suggest use as a light hammer. Keep it!

I believe that is just a rock. A softer layer of limestone was sandwiched between two harder layers. The softer layer eroded at a faster rate leaving what appears to be the "groove".

I believe it is an Early Archaic "Gumby" action figure.

Please excuse my lightheartedness -- but I could not pass.

The item does appear to be natural (IMHO).
