    Some of my better finds

Pictured are some of my rockshelter finds ,some of the ones im holding I found this year other than the drills(minus the black one, that one was dug earlier this year)the other three where found a few years back,as was the black adena along with the black serrated point. All the others Im holding were found this year along with a few lower grade points and brokes of course. Just figured I would share some of my finds with the knowledgable folks on here,I "try" to do typology on my points as you can see, some of the dates are off ,that I do know, but yall can chime in if ya see any paticular types,as im new at typology, thanks for the look.BTW whats your opinions on the pentegonal point I dug a few weeks back?

Thanks for the kind replies ,as the frame pics along with the pentagonal point pic and the blade pics dont do the points/blade justice(the blade and pentagonal point let ALOT more light through them than what the pics show) ,but it will work for now, everyone feel fee to let your opinions/observations fly,as I love replies!...thanks 4 the look as I praise the opinions of the folks here.

Nice looking WV stuff man. It's great to see some familiar materials and types on here. The pentagonal point looks like a Pentagonal Knife, an archaic type that is found in WV and into the midwest. They look alot like Jacks Reef points which are supposedly arrowpoints and very thin. Penatagonals knives are thicker and have archaic flaking. That is a real nice example. The drills and that blade are particularly nice as well imo. Looks like you find alot of Kanawha chert and Hillsdale with the translucency. Those are two most common material types I find in WV. Thanks for sharing your finds.

Re: Some of my better finds

Thanks "37" and yes I do find alot of blacks and translucent grays to white's and varieties of quartz and ryolight*(i know i cant spell..lol) ,as well as some harder black stuff that has fine grains of grey material through it,I have also found some flintridge chips(no points)I appreciate the typology help on the pentagonal because I believe you are right as it does have archaic parallel flaking on it to a median ridge ,and VERY sharp,I thought it would be odd if it were a jacks reef,as It was found on a mainly archaic site right around 2 feet down ,give or take a few inches. Thanks again man, keep the opinions flowing yall!
