    Missouri knife point?

Found on the Platte River north of St. Joseph, Missouri. Was gold panning and turned over a good sized slab of fractured bedrock and this little piece of history revealed itself. Dimensions: 4" length. 1 1/2" width at base. Over 1/4" thick. I know absolutely nothing about points and such. I don't know if I broke the small piece off or if it was that way to start. Any information on approx. age and/or value will be appreciated. Thanks!

That is a nice piece, I don't think you broke the ear off, it look's like it might have been resharpened a good many times on that side until they just worked the ear off. That is a pretty nice piece.

    Re: Missouri knife point?

Thanks for the input, everyone. A researcher around town here also has told me this is a Hardin point. Est. age 5,000-7,000 years. Again, thanks all!
