    Any MT areas to hunt?

I'm heading out to Montana on Friday to go Elk hunting. Will be in the Livingston area (Park Co.). This is a longshot, but does anyone know of any areas to hunt rocks up there? Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Joe

    Joe,

Livingston is located on the banks of the Yellowstone River, which is famous for it's moss agates. I don't have any specific locations, but even if you don't get to the river itself, take a look in all the gullies you will be crossing as you are hunting, as that's what's feeding the Yellowstone those agates. Try google.

Scepter - Thanks for the idea. I'll keep my eyes to the ground (good idea when hunting rocks, bad idea when hunting animals). I believe there will be some draws and small creeks in the area. I'm always bring home boxes of rocks and what-nots from animal hunting trips.

Too bad about the ears on that little white point. I found a whole red jasper Hopewell point that I dropped in a parking lot one time. It wasn't a great point but it had no damage at all on it. Broke it clean in half and never could find the tip. Pretty amazing considering it was a paved parking lot.
