    Indian tool or weapon?

Found this last weekend while hiking the creek bottom on our property with the grandkids. It is rock, appears to be symmetrically carved, and feels best gripped in my right hand at the angle in the first picture. The second picture shows the back area hidden by my grip. I soaked this rock in CLR to remove most of the creek gray mineral film. If this is actually an Indian tool, did it hurt it to be soaked in CLR? Is there a better way to clean items like this up? I am new to this site, and find it very interesting. I am also new to hiking our creek area, as we commute to the city to work, and have not taken the time til now. Hope someone can tell me if we have an Indian artifact here. Thanks for taking the time to look!

Just a large piece of Quartz. Not an Indian artifact.
