Great piece, aside from the Folsom, it's as nice or better than anything else on the banner right now.

Can you get a shot of the side? How thick is it?

Very nice. I saw the in situ picture over on Arrowheadology and that was a very nice picture.

    Re: Plainview or Goshen?

Helluva nice point! Congratulations on that find. Love the material as well.

    Now, on to boring stuff.

The Goshen and Plainview appear to be the same type of point. Frison (who named Goshen at Mill Iron Site) named the type simply because the dates are older than other Plainview point. Frison called them Goshen-Plainview because of the possibility that they are the same point but with a long time continuum. Vance Haynes believes they also are the same point type and that the name Goshen should be dropped and Jeb Taylor is very tentative about the association as well (see projectile points of the high plains). it is impossible to tell the difference between many samples of Goshen and Plainview, hence the designation Goshen-Plainview by Taylor & Frison. We fall back on the collector familiarity with name recognition though (even in separation) and for that reason the name Goshen is still used by some.

For what it's worth, I'm not sure it's either. How thick is it? What's the cross-section like? How far up does the grinding extend?

That is an extremely thin point. In the photo it appears to be thicker than that.

Very nice projectile and one that I would actually call and use the term Goshen-Plainview as Neanderthal explained above.
