    Speaking of tiny.........

Found this one this morning. Can't believe I didn't miss it in the shell.
I didn't expect it and didn't shoot the in situ. The tip of the point was sticking out of the crushed shell and sand. I always pick up debitage to keep from bending over again. I got quite the suprise this time.
    Thanks, Lone Star

That is a great little point I have found a few that size five or six that were whole and undamaged and have looked at them and wondered. How they were hafted the bases are so small several of mine the base is no wider than one or two match sticks. I have often thought about how they were used being so small.

I hope there's nothing smaller than a Fidget! I can't imagine how one could work a piece down that small, amazing.....

    Re: Speaking of tiny.........

    You know it really is.
They must have been affective, cause I've found quite a few real small ones thru the years.
It was said the the historic occupants (Karankua) around here were real tall, and used long bows with long arrows. I guess the sheer force of that hitting something regardless of the tip could be quite lethal to any deer or person. Thanks, Lone Star

    Re: Speaking of tiny.........

Very nice, and it does take a good eye to spot those. We found a lot of the Wa$hita points in Oklahoma of that size. I often wondered if small points like that might have been used on blow gun darts, but points of that size were used to take down buffalo. After Columbus, some tribes would find those points and had stories about them belonging to a race of little people who came before. Cool find.
This world is not my home.
