pottery piece?

Found this in a river today, where I had found a arrowhead before. Found this about 100 yards up stream from the arrowhead. I'm not sure if this is native pottery or not. It sure looks like it to me. It's tanish orange inside and brownish outside. As best I can see.

Looks like pottery to me from the posted picture. Keep looking that area surely there are more goodies there. - Just my thoughts.

definitely is almost always you can see ground up shell in native pottery
