    Yesterdays Find

I only found this one point, but the corn has just been cut and most fields are still not plowed so hunting conditions are not at their best. The farmers usually start plowing just before deer season opens. Which then I have to make a choice....Deer hunting or artifact hunting. I can almost always find a nice 4000 to 6000 yr. old point, but finding a nice old buck has been difficult in recent years.

Nice point! Any whole one is a good one in my book, I have always like the side notched point though. What material is that Some kind of ryolite or something?

    Re: Yesterdays Find

It could be one but most Goddard points are wider and more flat with a more archaic style flaking. This piece (this only my guess and opinion so don't be offended) looks to be a slightly later piece- (this is also all off the top of my head, wish I had my books un-packed so I could make a reference.)
