    todays finds

Does anyone have any ideas as to what the rectangular stone in the picture might be and what it might have been used for? I found it today while surface hunting along with a couple of broken drills I think. I also found a couple of nice points a shame the good one was broken it has some very nice detail on it.

That broken one would have been nice! The rectangular piece looks like it might have been a square knife. Is it broken or whole?

    Nice finds.

It is whole the piece is about 4 and ahalf to 5 inches long. If you look at the end of it on both ends it is diamond shaped and it will sit flat on all four sides.

Some cool stuff there. I don't think that the central piece is anything though, it doesn't look like a very hard stone and it doesn't appear to have been worked either by flaking or grinding but then again I probably wouldn't be able to tell from a picture if it has been grinded at all...if it has been worked into that shape intentionally and isn't just a rock then I would guess that it would be some type of wood gouge or wood working tool.
