My 30 year collection
Here are pic's of my 30 year collection, I had 10 years worth stolen before I started these.
Most are Caddo, Quapaw, from this area, maybe some Osage from southern MO, they used this area for their hunting grounds, they averaged about six to seven feet tall, I imagine they went where they wanted to, went to a bluff shelter once ,where someone found a skeleton about seven foot tall.
one spearpoint from Texas.
I found about a third, the rest were bought or traded for, the beads are shell, from the Gulf coast, traded to this area.
Pic's are on an angle, to cut out glare. Fossis...............

Yes Yes Yes!!!!!!!!!!!! Man fossis you have a WONDERFUL collection my friend. I hate to hear about your first 10 years. It's a shame people will reduce themselves to stealing. My grandfather put it into perspective for me tho. He has a vegetable stand every summer as kind of a hobby. He always has it set up on the honor system. And every summer... it never fails.. somebody comes by and cleans out the money box. He just takes it with a grain of salt and says... "If they needed it bad enough to steal it.. then they needed it more than me."
I'm done rambling.
Very nice collection. I can't WAIT to see that hardstone my friend.

Awesome, spectacular, impressive, etc. You have displayed them very well. It's so nice to see someone take the time to arrange them beautifully and to use Ryker boxes. I've seen some other collections (not here on TNet - every collection I've seen on TNet has been great) that were too crowded or glued to boards that just didn't seem to give adequate respect to the artifacts - and by proxy, to the men who made them. So seeing a nice collection like yours is such a relief. Nice to know so many TNet members treat their collections with the respect I think they deserve. WTG.

Re: My 30 year collection
Thanks Johnny X, The really sad part about stealing the Artifacts, is my Mom gave me a cigar box full she had found as a little girl, she is 87 now.
About the fruit stand & your Grandfather, that is a good story, we occasionally see that in the rural areas, one time in Ar, a lady had a rock shop & was selling Crystals on the honor system.

Re: My 30 year collection
Very nice points Fossis. I'm right up above you here in Northeast Oklahoma. Nobody can ever say there's a shortage of Kriegers (Garys) in OK, LOL. I love that centerpiece in the 2nd frame (tang), do you have any closer pics of it? Thanks for showing.
