    Recent finds in TX

Here are some points I found recently in Harris County TX. I think the small triangular point in the second pic is a San Patrice, but I haven't seen one exactly like it before. I also found a curved scraper with a little stem on it.

    Re: Recent finds in TX

    Morning,

Nice little collection there. You have a very wide spread on dates. You are correct the small 'triangular' shaped point is a San Patrice....a variant I see quite often in NW Louisiana. Normally they are small and sometimes beveled on the sides. The base on many appear like a moustache and are closely kin to the Dalton Hemphill only smaller. The smaller 'bird points' range from a possible cuney or catahoula or even a homan....the small points are sometimes so generic its hard to distinguish them. Where you found those you should be able to find daltons, bassets or even an evans or two. Should also be some pottery associated with the smaller points. Excellent site!!

I live in Harris county and own about 150 acres in Hockley---would love to find out where these were found--maybe we can get together for a hunt sometime.

I know 4 houstonians so far that collect--contact me via PM.
