Here is a point I found recently. Not sure exactly what it is, someone told me it was probably a Victoria (formerly early stemmed lanceolate) here in Texas. It is in excellent condition. The base is ground about 1/3 of the way up, very fine flaking, and a needle point. I'm not sure if its a little fluted on one side, or just a thinning flake. Easily my best find ever.
that's a beauty Josh,I've never been to texas.Are you finding your artifacts on the surface?near streams,in fields ,just trying to get a feel of your area.Whats that material it's made of?Do you find other stuff made of it?

Thanks everyone for the comments. Jay, I'm fairly new at this, but I've found most of my stuff on lake shorlines, creeks, and rivers. This area of Texas has sandy soil with not much rock, alot of points are made out of petrified wood. I'm not sure exactly what material this is, just a dark grey chert, with almost a blueish tint. Super find Josh! It looks just like some of the examples of Victoria points in the last overstreet. If the shoulders were not there I'd say Plainview. I'm not to familiar with point types down there, but that's my guess.

Super nice find!!! I don,t know much about Texas stuff,though both my brothers live there and hunt artifacts. I would say plainview. If I found that in Ohio I would say paleo,regarless I would call it Beautiful!!! Jeff
