    New finds...need id PLEASE !

Found these on a ridge that overlooks what used to be a creek at one time but is now nothing but dry ground. Trying to learn what i'm finding here so any help with id and age would help me out. Thanks for looking!

Re: New finds...need id PLEASE !

    Morning,

Both those are drills. The long one is a VERY good drill. Difficult to assign a certain time period to them as there were drills from every time period....best guess could be made by examining other artifacts in the general area...points you can gain a time period from and going from there. If you have a multi-component site...(several time periods together) this will be less accurate, but its about the best you can do.

Drills are neat little artifacts. Its hard to find perfect ones here. Normally they are damaged in some way. Hope this helps.

    Happy Hunting

What about the tool on the far right...it could pass for an oyster if it was a different color! It is small, thick and perfectly balanced (as far as both sides being identical). It is one of my fav. pieces

The third one is probably a thumb scraper.

    Just my thought.
