Looks like she did good Rich, My wife screamed one day while on a creekbank, & I thought she had found a Cottonmouth, but she found a nice 5 inch spearpoint, (The sad part was I had already looked in the area) LOL.

As pretty as that one is the white one gets my attention even more- that has the ear marks of being paleo. The flaking scar ridges have a high level of wear. You can see how far up it was hafted (and later resharpened above)- probably has basal grinding also- if the base is ground I would say paleo for sure and if that's the case even more rare and older than the fancy point- just my two cents worth.

Re: The wife got the find of the day this time..
Nice finds Rich. I live a little north east of you in Greenville, just east of Dallas. I've been hitting Lake Tawakani pretty hard, the lake is about 6 Ft low, and I'm planning a trip to the Sulphur River in a week or so. It sounds like you and your wife are old hats at this in Texas, do you have any advice? My dad owns some property about 1/2 a mile from an Indian mound that I plan on hitting a little harder. I'll have to take some pictures of the mound the next time I'm out there. It's pretty cool. It's about 75 yards or so long and about 30 yards wide and about 30 feet high or so. It's two teared and the bottom tear is concaved were it has been worn down by foot traffic. Thanks in advanced for any advice you could give, Razor

Re: The wife got the find of the day this time..
I don't know how long or How successful you have been hunting and I don't know a lot about north east Texas but it sounds like your going to the right areas. Remember you need to have a water source. I am finding points and tools up to at least 1/2 mile from a pretty large river. you can go pretty quick until you start seeing flint. Slow down and really look then. Don't forget to check the larger rocks. flip them over to check if they are grinding stones and stuff. Anything out of place, That's how I notice the couple of petrified bones I found..
You could always take me with ya
