    First dig of the year

Finally the streams have lowered and my site is accessible. It was a little wet but at least the ground is mostly sand. The first four are full tips. The rest are pieces of blades with the exception of the preform on the bottom and of course that little beauty of a fishnet weight.I found it under a tree root and it pretty much made my day.there is no doubt in my mind as to its use. That they would take the time to put a nub on the bottom blows my mind.

These guys didnt make the most beautiful stuff but their material was not the greatest. The fourth point is like no other point ive found yet.It is really thick and of a strange design.

These fishweights or plummets were found about 50 yards apart. One last year on the surface and the other in this years dig.Quite a difference in design..............Man who rakes the woods.

Nice stuff jay, I'd love to find a weight like that! I can't seem to find the time now that the fish are in. Found one point the other day made of a slate like stone. I'll try and get pics up soon. Are you guys going to get any of this rain we're getting? Keep it up!!

Yes Colin I believe every rain cloud in NorthAmerica eventually ends up in Maine.Just when I think we are going to miss mud season here it comes.I guess its just as well as my site could use a good douchen. Most everything is a muddy color as the water has just receded. Now if we could lose the 30 degree mornings.Soon I'll be turtle trapping and swatting black flies.....................ahhh the simple things in life..............going,going,gone.......

I would love to find a sinker or a weight, nice. We had a frost last night, I had to cover the plants . We're just paying for those 70 degree temps in Jan. Think Spring?
