    NEWBIE NEEDS HELP INDENTIFYING

Hey folks I found this thing in a field, down by a creek. The site will soon be developed and I am trying to determine if I should head back down there before they get started. It was buried probably 6 inches down amongst other rocks. 1 side very smooth the other rough and the ridges on the bottom look intentionally put there but I can't tell for sure. Do I have anything here? Any help/feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    LOL...

Being from Tampa I would think that you would be able to ID that.

That there my friend is a petrified clam.

Don't worry, I have done things like that too, I think we all have.

Yep, I'd have to agree DigEmAll, petrified clam / muscle, I think, if found in, or near fresh water... Nice find...
    Good luck, & Happy hunting~

Thanks for clearing that up for me guys! The thought entered my mind a few times about the clam thing but, that bottom had me getting hopeful. Thanks again.
