    Older finds

I found these about 20 years ago in the same field that I hunt now. It keeps producing year after year! The two on the middle and upper right have some shoulder damage.

    Thanks for looking.

Hey Badandy! I've been hunting this field and others off and on for about 30 years. I have never really done a count on what I have found. I need to some day. I have many boxes of them stored away. I have a few more shadowboxes that I am going to put together. My wife wants to buy another house with a basement so that she can move my "rocks" down there. She tells her friends that her house is the only one around with rocks on the walls, rocks in the closet, rocks in the garage, and rocks in the attic. It drives her nuts!

I have been very, very fortunate with regards to access of the fields. My Grandfather passed away in 1994. My Grandmother sold the farm and moved back to where they were from originally. The neighbors of my Grandfather bought his farm and house. A couple of years later, I went over there and asked them for permission to hunt the fields again. They told me that I could do whatever I wanted to on the farms. They told me not to worry about telling them when I was going out on the farm. They said to just drive out to the fields like I always had done in the past. They are very nice people. I keep in contact with them and always ask if there is anything they need me to help them with. It's the least I can do.

    Good luck!

You are a good man, allot of people would just take advantage and not be there to repay the favor. What a nice thing to bring back childhood memories. The place I hunt I used to hunt with my Dad as a little girl. You have an awesome collection. (My hubby has finally learned to live with my artichokes as he calls them)

Thanks Country Girl! The owner will sometimes pull up next to me in the field with his tractor, waving, with a big grin on his face. I'll jump up on one of the big tractor tires and we'll carry on for about half an hour or so. He is as funny as he can be!
My son is leaving for college next month. I told him that I am turning his room into an "Indian room" for my artifacts. I go in there and start measuring just to aggravate him!

    Good luck!

Hey Hillbilly! You'll get one sooner or later! I had a site that was 5 minutes from my house that produced a lot of Ft. Ancient and Archaic points. It soon became a hayfield, so I figured I would hunt on the farms next to this one thinking I would find something. The only thing I found on several farms in the area was field rock. There wasn't a single piece of flint! They only inhabited the one place. It can really frustrate you! Keep at it. You'll come upon a site eventually.

    Good luck!
