One of my better days in the last few years, 3rd attempt

Pretty self explanatory except for the carved stone item in pics 2 and 3, any ideas? Rest of it is as I list them, Chris

That is a nice bunch of stuff you found there, the carved pieces are very interesting. Is the hole in that one the only hole? I mean, it couldn't be a broken effigy pipe could it? Wish I could see it in person, very interesting!

Nice stuff Chris! Is that big blade, in the middle of the three, a dark granite type material on the other side, with just a skin of the white material? Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I'm trying to found out what that material is called. Thanks.

Hi Cannon, no idea what the carved piece is, never seen anything like it. White jade was used for most decorative items so I am thinking it had a practical purpose, just unsure what. I did manage to break it in half, I am embarassed to admit that I thought it was copper when I found it and tried to clean the hole out by forcing itagainst the palm of my opposite hand, man did I feel dumb when I saw it was stone, clean break and will epoxy back easily.
Bean, the material is Fraser River basalt, Columbia river has similar traits. Basalt gets patina with age, you can see a few fresher re-works on the piece you questioned about, reworkings show the natural color black that the material.
    Take care guys, Chris
