    Taking up the hobby

I found these as a young lad back in the 1950s in the cornfields of Washington Bottom, along the Ohio River, just south of Parkersburg, WV and have kept them ever since. Now, I'm a retired Police Captain in my mid sixties with some time on my hands and have decided to try to add to my meager collection by taking up the hobby and perhaps meeting a few interesting people along the way. I have enjoyed reading the posts in this forum and seeing the pictures posted. There appears to be some very knowledgeable people here that are willing to help and encourage a beginner.

You might consider joining the ASO. Archaeological society of Ohio.
its 25 bucks a year you get 4 issues of Ohio Archaeology plus they have local chapter meetings I have met some real nice ppl thru this & a few places to hunt. Also they have yearly meetings and you get a nice official member card.Good luck on your hunts.
