1783 map found with native sites

I was working at a pre civil war home and saw a map on the wall that lists the native american villages in this area. The map was dated 1783.
I have never seen a reference to any village locations around here.
The homeowner (map owner) Said that I could photograph the map, but not duplicate it. I'm going back next week to do just that.
Does anybody have any advise on how to recon the sites. There is so much and I am alone in this. I don't even know anyone in this area that has any interest in native sites.
    Any advice would be helpful.
    Ty

I'm not sure how much he can help, or if he would be interested in helping, but I might know someone. He's a professor at Texas A&M at Commerce and his speciality is in Early Colonial American History with emphasis on American Indian Culture and Religion. Let me get with him and see if he is interested in taking a look at this. By the way: My wife, who is working on her masters in history, had this to say about the map: "Wow" period If it is truly an original map, it is quite a find in and of itself. Razor

Hi Ty. I have been very successful out here on the northern Eastern Shore, where I live. Haven't posted pics of anything (my laziness + the wacky business of opening a restaurant). Nevertheless, I might be able to help you out- suggest areas more likely than others. If you need help w/ something, let me know. In any case, good luck! There's a LOT around here- some dating back to clovis/dalton. The mix is amazing. You should get a good reference book for roughly dating and style IDing. Overstreet's good for that (but not for valuations). The things found around here don't come up often on this forum, so names and styles are different, though some are nearly universal, it would seem.
    Happy hunting, fellow Marylander!

Thank you, God, for this good day.  Wonder what the sea spits out today!
