Nothing I can see says they aren't. But nothing I can see says they are, either.

very common mistake by collectors to think unifaced tools were used in paleo times only.as jeff a said they were used in all time periods.looks like you are in a good area to find some good ones.

    Re: tools box 2

    Hello,
Thanks for looking in on this everyone.
Yes, I agree not for certain. All pieces
have been worked and some polish from
wear have other box for waste flakes.
Found hundreds of work related tools on
this site 12-A-446. All types late paleo
hi-lo to the neo-indian types. I think it
was like migration camp used for a long
period. I surface hunt this 15 years plus
but the ones before me for the last hundred
have most the answers. Yes I learning more
but slow like a little moose. Need something
better pictured let me know. Corner block
    end scrapers.

    Thanks,
    Bruce

    Re: tools box 2

Bruce : Count over four along the top from theleft. Fromnumber four, count down three. That item, if it shows re-touching along the thick edge, is probably a paleo tool.

The thing about the endscraper pictures you posted is that the working edges are on the thick end of a tapering flake. Most of the pieces in this assemblage seem to be pretty much uniform in thickness.

    Re: tools box 2

    Yep

    First one's as I thought -- a sidescraper.

Third one's definitely a graver spur.

The problem with square knives is that, in most places at least, they aren't diagnostic of any particular time period. And they're bifaces.

    Nice item !!!!!
