    My first finds

Hello all, I have been reading all of the posts on here the last couple months, and it really inspired me to try and find some artifacts in my area. So here's what I got the last few weeks not much but I'll take em. The first one I beleive is a arrowhead. The second one is what I think is a broken spear head. And the third one is a preform. I could be wrong on any or all of these and if I am please correct me. And if anyone could tell me how old these are, that would be much appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Congratulations mainer, you did very well for your first outings. Took me several before I found my first complete point. I am not familiar with types from your area, but the first 2 look like some very nice triangles to me according to the pics. Is the second one broke? From the pics it looks like a complete triangle..

I bet you are hooked good now eh?

Thanks quito, I think the second one is broken I think it was a longer spear head, but as I said before I could be wrong. I am very new to this. Thank you Molly! I am from Maine. I have looked in some creeks but havent had any luck these all came from the shores of the ocean.

If you think it is broke, then it probably is. The base is often the best part of a point to aid in identification.

Keep up the good work mainer.

Welcome to the board- not too bad of finds at all there! I would agree the first one is an arrowhead, second is a broken something... no way to really know, and the last one could be an unfinished point or preform but likely is a little knife- cool stuff.
