I would appreciate opinions (pros & cons) on whether or not I should get this piece authenticated/repaired. I believe that it is paleo, possibly Plainview. I found it walking a creek here in Central Texas. Never thought I'd even consider paying the money for a broken piece, but even broken it's such a well made, attractive piece. Been back to try and find the pieces (yeah right) with no luck of course. Am I an idiot? Should I just get used to it the way I was lucky enough to find it? I am not going to be selling it, but does it hurt or help it's value? And finally even though I personally found it is it still worth it to get it authenticated? I don't know much , only what I have been able to read, and I don't trust my own opinion on what type this point is. I know this one probably falls into the realm of personal choice, just thought there might be some good opinions out there. I'm leanen towards wanting to see what it would have looked like whole. Hope the pics post if not I'll retry. Thanks in advance for any advice given.
IF you found it no need to get it authenticated, I don't restore my broken stuff, but that is personal preference, I don't think it does anything for the value either way
No sense to restoring--value is in the finding and--at least for me not a monetary desire. Keep it as found or as it was when it was lost--depending on how you look at the projectile point's status.
My opinion.
