    12 inches of rain.

Since May 30th we have had nearly a foot of rain here in western IN. The town where I live hasn't flooded this bad in anyone's living memory going back 80+ years. We are on prairie with only one small creek that drains the entire town so it's flooding because the water has nowhere else to go. The stench of dead night crawlers is enough to gag a maggot. The flooding began on Monday and the water went down by yesterday then starting at midnight we were once again flooded by a down pour that lasted 9 hours. With more rain in the forecast next week it may be a long time before things resume back to normal.

The storms have washed out plenty of relics IF you can get to the sites. Some roads are completely washed away and closed. Last Saturday morning I went out and couple complete points and a decent celt. I've found 2 celts in this field and only one complete point. I could get used to this ratio!

Then Sunday morning I found my first table rock made of hornstone. This is the first time i've seen one made of hornstone. If anyone else has one post it please.

I found this neat little guy yesterday. Anyone care to offer an opinion on typology be my guest.

I went out this after noon after the rain soaked in a little and did fairly well. I ended up finding 4 good pieces and several brokes. I found the little thebes about 20 minutes after I got there. I hunted a couple more hours and was hunting the very edge rows along the grass strips. Out of the corner of my eye I spotted a huge thebes that had been washed completely out of the field into the grass strip. I walked the rest of the washout with no luck. It's a miracle that they were able to knap a point out of a piece of flint with so many flaws. The damage on the corner is where a quartz vein broke, possibly during knapping. I believe this is made of Kenneth Chert. It measures in at 3 1/2 x 1 3/4. I'm pretty excited to find a flake of Kenneth anytime and finding this piece put me on cloud 9 until I got home to the stench and the water, pfffffffttttttttttt. Good luck everyone.

Good pics. Adam, and I hope it lets up soon bud. I am going to try and hit a creek or two tomorrow, but I'm not sure if I'll do any good.

Wow- you found a couple of really super points there, not to mention the celt. Hope the skies clear up for you and you keep your feet dry. I would have to kit that creek when the waters subside.
