    Woodland Stone Tool

New to the site and to artifact hunting. I hope someone can help? I found this on a creek shore in NC. Can anyone tell me what it is and approx. how old? The grooves fit perfectly in my (see pics). Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Natural rock.

Don't get discouraged though. If you stay persistent you will eventually find some nice artifacts.

Yep that be a rock, keep your eyes on the ground and don't give up and you will find something eventually. Once you see some worked edges you will know instantly if you have a keeper. Welcome to the site!

Neanderthal in the Americas? Nah, we prefer Europe & Asia. Plus, silly rocks won't defend against us - we're the original gansta's! Done a drive-by on a cave just this morning....lost 11 clubs.
