    AX HEAD

Here is a prehistoric ax head that I found on a farmers rock pile while looking for meteorites. I spent many summers searching for meteorites. When they are in the sky they are called meteors. After they hit the ground they are called meteorites. A geophysics and fellow meteorite collector friend told me about rock piles because they save many hours walking in farm fields. The farmer did all the work of gathering the rocks from all over the field.

Now that is definitely an Indian artifact. That is a very nice Full Grooved Axe.

    Re: AX HEAD

I've heard of farmers doing that and have found a few crude grinders and such in piles on the side of fields, but never a sweet artifact like that! Nice, nice, nice.

    Re: AX HEAD

I have seen a few rock piles near productive sites, but they must have already been picked through, that's great!
