I looked around the site and didn't find a section on books. I know as well as everyone else that books can be very valuable treasures.

About 20 years ago, I stopped at an abandoned property that I seen people there. I asked to look around and was given permission and was told that I could take anything I wanted because the state was planning on expanding the highway and his property was going to be demolished. So, I looked inside the house and found several small items as follows:

1 German vintage toy from the early 1900s

Books: The Enchanted Isle of Yew, by Frank L. Baum
Death Comes As The End, by Agatha Christie

Both of which are in relatively good condition. The Baum book (copyright 1904) has the binding separated on one side, and the Christie book (copyright 1944) is in great condition. Both are 1st editions as well. None have sleeves though, which raises the prices dramatically.

I searched Ebay, and to my amazement, the Baum book is worth around $275.00 and the Christie is worth around $100.00
and the German toy is worth about $400.00, but I sold that right away to the local antique store.

All for free!!
