    Re: Strawberry Arizona

I don't believe you will find much color around Strawberry. I know there were some load mines around Payson. The only treasure I know of is a lost wagon load of weapons and military payroll that went off the rim. Not too many people seem to have heard of this one. I am still doing research on it. I live in Glendale and intend to do some exploring this summer when it is too hot to prospect in the valley. If you are interested send me a PM and we can discuss what I have found out so far.

Lived there for a few years, never heard of any leads or color in the area; not even any stories worth looking into.

Best bet would be to research old homesteads and MD around those areas... other than that not much I can offer.

No really. Everyone takes a right when they get to Payson.

Just don't tell anybody about it.

Tonto Natural Bridge is a great place to visit if you can get there before the closure in September.

    What else
Had a small gold rush in the late 1800s.
Lots of Native Americans in the area with Fort Verde to your west.

    Hmmm
Looking at the history section on this winkilinky maybe some entrepreneurs up in Sandrock Canyon?

    Okay it's moonshine.

That usually means cash transactions and stashes. Some of the locals may remember the place?

    Good Luck
