    Mapping Program

One might want to check this out .... took me awhile to figure out how to use it but well worth the effort.

    ArcGIS Explorer

Click on the green box that says "Download ArcGIS Explorer". I like how easy it is to switch from an 'arial view' to a 'topo view'.

    Re: Mapping Program

Another one that's got a lot of use from me is NASAs World Wind takes awhile to get used to all the different types of maps etc. But works good on some of the spots where Googles a little fuzzy.
I know it's here, just need a bigger coil!

    Re: Mapping Program

    My farovites, based on useage:

    1. ArcGIS Explorer
    2. Goggle Earth ( using the add-on that allows one to overlay topo)
    3. NASA World Wind

There is a program called 'Dapple' that allows one to overlay topo maps on satellite maps - played with it as well as several other 'shareware' or 'freeware' programs. Dapple is a good little program - IMHO.
