New ATV rules in Arizona
Although I posted this information in the "Gold Prospecting" section in answer to a post there, I am also posting it here to get the word out to those interested in off road travel in Arizona.
There are new restrictions concerning the use of ATVs in Arizona that have caused much controversy with snowbirds who take their ATVs, registered in their home state, to Arizona. The ATV must have an off road permit. The permit can only be obtained by first getting an Arizona title to the the ATV and then obtaining Arizona license plates. The BLM restricts the off road use of ATVs according to their rules. Certain sections of the Butterfield Overland Trail that still exist in Arizona come under the "culturally sensitive" definition.
A copy of the rules is posted below.

Getter done
That is sure going to upset alot of people. In not a lawyer, but that looks like double taxation. I see where BLM is coming from becasue that is happening all over (not that I agree with it), but an Az title to get the permit to use the ATV in Az seem excessive.
