    Tabdog tha Coin Dog

    Hay MD’ers,

If you read my post, you know that I don’t often coin hunt.
But I just couldn’t pass this one up.

There is a Baptist Church that’s accross the street form the
    historic Saline County Courthouse.

They own three lots across the street and the houses were
tore down and they used them as a parking lot. I tried to hunt
it before, but it was topped with gravel and hard as a rock and
    hard to get depth on.

I have permission from the church to hunt those lots.

Yesterday, I drove by and they are getting ready to pave the
    lots:

This morning I went over there after I dropped my son off at
    school.

I found a mercury dime, buffalo nickel and two wheaties. I
also found some kind of copper cap thing with a shield on it
and a broken brass something, and an old chisel or tool of
some kind and a few other diddies.

I was using my Euro Sabre with 5.75 concentric coil.

I found the merc and two wheaties under this 5’ diameter oak
    tree.

They won’t let the church take it down. ( Yea for them ).

Well, that’s about it for Coin Dog today.

I may go back and be Coin Dog again
tomorrow, and maybe find some more
    old stuff.

Til then, thanks for lOOking and

    Happy Hunting,

    Re: Tabdog tha Coin Dog

The "cap thing" looks like a flattened general staff button. Might be Civil War or slightly postwar. There are a number of varieties with different shields.
