    Camping/Water hunting

Hello from Texas..... We are considering a camping trip to Lake Ouachita, or near by this summer. Any suggestions for lake beach hunting? Do's and Dont's?
Any comments will be appreciated. Thanks HH Gayle

Some places allow you to hunt on the beaches some dont...if it is a corp of engineers park, then most will allow you to hunt anywhere that has already been disturbed ie: beaches, picnic areas, ect. Just check with the gate attendant or other officail. If your gonna be in hot springs for a while, make sure to go dig for diamonds at the crater of diamonds state park in murfreesboro(spelling?) it's only about an hours drive south of hot springs and you could get lucky and bring out a nice diamond.

You have to fill out one of these to get a permit. http://www.mvk.usace.army.mil/lakes/...03%20Lakes.pdf

Just print it, fill it out, mail it in, you should here something back in a 1-2 week time.

Rules are at the bottom of the link I provided.

Here's another link. http://www.adptfoi.com/Parks/PD3225%...0Detecting.pdf Don't know how current it is.

It might help to include a self addressed stamped envelope. I got my permit back within a week of sending in to the Lake Ouachita office. Good for a year.
If it ain't broke, fix it anyway!

I think that the law on this link - http://www.mvk.usace.army.mil/lakes/...03%20Lakes.pdf - supercedes the previous law on the latter link. I pretty sure they took out the no hunting in the summer rule, but not positive.
