    Saratoga

My wifes aunt has 400 acres near Saratoga, anybody know if there were any civil war activity in that area? We may be visiting for a few days, if we do get there I have permission to poke around the property.

    Appreciate any help.

Here's is a link to Howard county. http://www.genealogyshoppe.com/arhoward/ I believe that Saratoga was in Hempstead county during the time of the civil war, so there are no Civil war listings in Howard County, but check out Hempstead county links below.
Here's a link to some information on the Hempstead County, which is below Howard County that Saratoga is in. http://www.encyclopediaofarkansas.ne...px?entryID=773
    and another. http://www.argenweb.net/hempstead/

And here's a site dealing with the civil war in that county. http://www.civilwarbuff.org/Places/Hempstead/Index.htm

Here is a link to the Civil War Official Record, there are hundreds of thousands of letters written by Union and Confederate Officers detailing there movements thru different parts of the country...click on simple search, then type in the area your looking for ie: Saratoga, Hempstead county, or even a particular creek....you may have to dig thru several pages but if you find it then it's worth it.
