Missing Tot Lot Yields Gold Ring 14 for 2009

Hello Folks,

On my second hunt today, I went to a park where
they took out the tot lot!! I hate loosing a good tot
lot,



The park has the baseball field that is used by The
University of Arkansas at Little Rock. (ULAR)



I guess they did not want people hanging out in the
parking lot. It is a rough part of town.

I thought I would hunt where the tot lot used to be.

The very first target I dug was a wheaty,





I thought,,,, Silver?,,,,,,, NO!!!! Not this time

I was getting flustered. There were lots of deep pull
tabs that were so deep, it made them sound smooth.
I just have trouble not digging those..... When I was
about to give it up, then out comes a ring!!!



It had some writing inside, but I could not make it out.
When I got home, I confirmed my suspicions,



It is a very light 10k yellow gold ring with a light blue
stone?



But a couple of grams of 10K gold is still a good find.
It made my soreness kind of melt away. Funny how
finding a piece of gold just makes me feel better.. lol

I dug several deep targets. My Compadre was going
deep today,



I got a small hand full of dirty clad, and what looks like
a real old rivet



I started early this morning..... I had lunch and hunted
again.

But the day ended on a really good note.

Holy smokes, 14 gold rings so far this year, no wonder I can't find any.... yer suckin em' up like a hoover vacuum! Nice find Tabdog! Gold anything has a way of brightening any day... looking forward to when I find my first. Take care and HH!
