Saw this in our local paper over the weekend; I just missed the August meeting.

The Coin and Relic Metal Detectors meets each month at 7:00 p.m. on the third Thursday at the Community Building in downtown Siloam Springs.
There are metal detector instructions on usage, discussions, and programs. The meeting is for learning and sharing and there are no dues.

The person hosting it can be reached at (479) 524-3084 if you want more information, or just come on the meeting day.

Next meeting is September 21.

I was notified today that this club has decided to disband and will not be meeting.

Wow, that lasted about as long as a fart in the wind.

Apparently the group had met for years and the Community Center didn't charge for it. When the Center decided to start charging for the space, the small club decided to break up. I was planning on attending for the first time and called to verify. That's when I was informed they'd just shut down. Seems to me that's a thin reason to disband, so I suspect the club was dying before then.
