Yes that's the way he signed his name and the circle with the "m" was his monogram or cipher.That's not to say it's an original though.Does it look like this?

I noticed you said it's labeled "spring flowers" on the back of it,in another forum."Zinnias and Marigolds" is the closest I could find.

Hi,
It is of Still Life
Tulips and carnations in a vase.
Which I could show picture but
it says my pics are too large.
Maybe I can e-mail one of you the pictures and

One of the articles from Forbes FYI Magazine talked about H Dudley
Murphy frames selling for $75,000
How can I find out if the frame that Murphy painting is in is
from that time period?
No markings on fram. If anyone wants to see pic e-mail me at:[email protected]
