17th-18th CENTURY ASIAN PITH PAINTINGS PORTFOLIO
Prior to my father passing away in 2000. He had purchsed this portfolio that contains asian pith paintings on rice paper with a cardboard type booklet covered in silk. The first painting has some damage where some of the paint came off the rice paper, the other paintings are in reall good shape and beautiful colors. There was a letter in the envelope that my father kept the portfolio in that was typed my Mr Kruger in late 1960- early 1970. I will have to get he letter out. In this letter he gived some detail as to the type of panting it is. My father had always told us it was very valuable, but never told us any dollar amounts. I am trying to locate someone who KNOWS about Asian Pith Paintings from 17th-18th Century. I contact several colleges and founf a few, but they seem to be in Asian countries for long periods of time and they never contact me.
Anyway, after my fathers passing the portfolio was left to me. Here are the pics if I can get them loaded onto this thread.
If I was President; I would take away welfare! I wouldn't make any bargains with foreign countries! I wouldn't take #@*& from any country! I would close the borders! I would get rid of taxes! I would make EVERYONE own at least 5 guns! I would ENFORCE Finders Keepers Law !!!!!!!!

There is NO SIGNATURE of the ARTIST, nor any TITLE PAGE. I did have a man in Georgia back in January 2001 that loked at it and judging by his expression it must be worth some big money, how much I don't know and he didn't say, but he wanted me to pay him $800 to appraise it, which at that time I didn't have that kind of money and never had it appraised.
I did contact Christies in the summer of 2001, of course they wanted me to e-mail them photos,(which I couldn't understand why), as they would put some value on it that way and auction it if I wanted them to. I told the person I spoke over the phone with I would be MORE than happy to drive to New York and show them the portfolio with the paintings, but they refused, so I took photos and e-mailed them to them and after them seeing the first painting being damaged and the file taking too long to open to see the rest of the paintings they told me they were NOT interested in doing anything about value or selling them.

Go to the antiques road show web site and look at their list of appraisers...find one in Asian art, send email if they are real, it is likely a bunch of court people, the last gal is sitting up elevated...they're beautiful, and naturally should be kept together (lol that's what they ALWAYS say on antiques road show), there is also a website called what's it worth, and a few other online appraisal places that don't cost an arm and a leg to take a look...once you get a whiff of value find a real expert in Asian art and go for it.
