This has was my Great Grandparents piece. I remember it used to hang above my grandmothers bed. it was in a closet for a long time, now it hangs above my parents bed. Can anyone translate the bottom? Does anyone have more information on this. My mother came over in 1959 on the USS America through Ellis Island. She was born in Lerte, Germany just outside Hanover, but grew up in Ponzan, Poland before coming over as a young teen.

It is a very beautiful painting, but unfortunately I cannot translate it. If I might suggest, taken a larger, close up picture to a large local university where several languages are taught. Maybe one of the faculty, graduate students can help. Unfortunately, that is all I can suggest at this time.
