    Oil painting

    Found oil painting here in ca.in a thrift store.Painting is of the ocean on the east coast lots of detail.The question is $19.95 too much.The painting is signed William Koffman so big deal.Research,research his last painting sold for $550.00. Wife said no i said yes and its on the wall ready for sale.

    I guess you like the painting? That means more than anything I think.

    $19.95 seems VERY cheap even if the painter had never sold a painting for $550 in his life. Check for damage and make sure it is not a giclee print. Nothing wrong with prints, but you don't want to be buying an oil painting at any price and then find out it is a print. Is it framed? On canvas?

    I searched for him, but was unsuccessful in finding anything about hiim or his paintings.

    Next thing we need is a picture of this painting. Can you do that?

    Just looked at the seascape that was sold at auction, it looks nice. You may have a keeper there since the guy is dead (dod 1995). They say a painting increases in value after the artist dies...morbid, but apparently true.
