I like turquoise, nice calming stone. So, you dug these out of a mine tailing pile?

I made these 3 years ago with junk from the junk pile, someone came into my store yesterday wanting more. I am about to make another batch, and a flower pot batch!!! They are fun to make! The local turquoise is fun to grind!

Ok, so it must be your local turquoise.

Yes there are a few tailing piles and a few alleys paved with the tailings. I have traded with people for some nice pieces. I love stone. Cripple Creek turquoise has a lot of impurity’s which are nice.

I had an opportunity to mine a bit of amazonite (microcline) at Divide Co. a few years ago. another nice blue/green stone.
Is there still a lot of claim jumping there?

Yes, apparently people go into other peoples claims with backhoes and it is a hassle for the claim owners to sue. The boys and I are due for a bike ride through the roads around the claims we usually come home with a few keepers.

Lots of places I used to go now are claimed up, but there is a lot of country that needs to be checked out. That Amazonite can be found all through the Tarryall range. You sure did a nice job setting that one!

That would be the wife. I will cut slabs or rough something but after that she does the work. I have seen some nice jack knifes cut form wild rock. I could probably do that in some passing grade.
