    Zero Motorcycles

    http://www.zeromotorcycles.com/gallery.php

I posted this here because it IS an all terrain vehicle (ATV), and I just think it's plain cool. 8)

Now if we can swap those non toxic batteries out at gas (zap)stations, we're onto something!

    Re: Zero Motorcycles

Those videos on the website are awesome! Thats freaky seeing a dirtbike come ripping down the trail and only hearing the tires digging in but not motor sounds. Cool bike. I wonder if he designed my '97 Santa Cruz Tazmon bicycle? I used to get a new bike every 3 or 4 years, but I've never found a reason to get rid of the Tazmon; can't kill it.

The Quantya is also a competitor to the Zero, swiss made.

A great machine stateside is the Gorilla. www.doranev.com. They are VERY well made and much better off road than you might expect from a 2-wheeler. Not an out and out trail quad, more of a farm atv with stacks of torque. All down to the rider though. a great stealth machine that's very cheap to run and according to some testimonials, some guys haven't changed their batteries in 6 yrs! I know about these because I used to import electric 4000w atvs and mopeds.

The Gorilla? yeah well Rick's background was in industrial electric carts. So the Gorilla is kinda half quad and half electric tractor. It can pull 4000lbs. That's because its geared to do it. Unlike some of the sportier electric quads. I have a 4000w that will do 35mph but it will only pull a couple of 100 kilos. I could pull that myself :P

Its the reliability of the unit that sets it apart though. Apparently though, a few yrs back, an atv sports mag did a review of the Gorilla and it handled v v well for a 2-wheel drive (should be on website somewhere). Sh1Tloads of torque from electric, always much more than any petrol or diesel.

    Re: Zero Motorcycles

Just updating this topic as a knowledge base: -

If you're interested in electric atvs, US made, the Barefoot may eventually go into fullscale production but the eForce from EVS already is. Out of Ellicottville, New York. See http://www.ecoeatv.com and see

For golf -cart type electric hunting / RV machines, see the Titan from Oregon, the Bad Boy Buggy from Mississipi.

    http://www.best-used-tractors.com/ti...ric_carts.html

    http://www.atv.com/manufacturers/oth...eview-797.html and http://www.badboybuggies.com.

ps the ATV Wagon, a trailer I considered importing, could be a great Thunting tool.

    All the best, Ruairķ
