Thanks for posting, I got to go on board the Missouri & see the spot where the surrender took place, & I had the priviledge to march in Mcarthur's funeral procession on the way to Arlington cemetary.

Did you know the US had about every bomber and fighter plane in the air and circling this festival just in case the Japanese tried one last trick? Remember, there was a lot of US brass all in one spot on that day.

We were cautious up till the last second and then some.
