That was an interesting read. I didn't know there was a "Vietnam Veterans Day".

• It is estimated that only one third of all military personnel who served in the Vietnam Conflict (less than 700,000) are alive today and of those, the number of Vietnam veterans currently living is rapidly diminishing;

I was kinda figuring something like that. I was 20 when I went in country in October of '69. And I was younger than most I served with there. That's the harvest of life.

Thanks for posting Terry.

Thank you for the posting Terry. It was a great read. There are probably a lot of us that didn't know that there is a Vietnam Veterans Day including myself.

So sad that this is a unknown day. I myself was unaware that there was one. I would have flown the flag.

Terry; Thanks for the posting.
This chokes me about as much as each time I visit The Wall:
Young Girl Plays 'TAPS' | Military.com
Don.....

The song she plays really isn't taps it is "Il Silenzio" by trumpet composer Nini Rosso. It is a Neapolitan cavalry call from Italy. A very beautiful piece. I know you didn't call it taps the person that posted the song did. I have absolutely loved this song for a long time. It chokes me up also.

I joined right after Viet Nam in 1975 and as we all know the Viet Nam veterans were treated miserably. They were not thanked or even acknowledged. Times have changed for the better. I am a 100% disabled vet.
