Great video Terry - but really I truly expect we should have chain driven 105's by now.

I remember in Cambodia one night on a mountain top near where I was, the 130's up in the air firing mini-guns at that mountain top next door, the tracers hitting it. The night before they were dropping in mortars and artillery on us. We didn't have any further trouble out of that mountain :)

It was a true light show, never forget it.

We have the ordinance and should always use it :)

AFSOC has some planes at Hurlburt, in Florida, that have shall we say, "exotic" weapons on board. You know that old Army saying - "When you want to kill everything, call in the artillery." :skullflag:

My Dad was team leader of a group called the "Dusty Seven" in Vietnam. One night, hemmed in by an NVA battalion, a Puff came in and cleared a lane almost a klick long for them to get to their extraction point. As an 11 year old they were on a pedestal for me for my lifetime.

The idea of having a fixed wing gun ship all started with the 47 in Vietnam . 018.JPG 019.JPG Then it evolved into the 119(this one having (4) 7.62s,(1) 20 MM canon, and (1) 40 MM canon . And shorty later into the 130.All were assigned to the USAF14th. SOW Vietnam Home base of the 14th SOW 003.JPG All under the control of the CIA.Not because of the guns, because of the sensors they had.

And these mini-guns had a fire rate of 6,000 rounds per minute ( or 100 RDS. per second). Not the 3,000 round per minute version of today mini's .

As a kid they used to practice low flying runs around my house. All of a sudden you hear this roar as a c-130 damn near took off the tree tops coming over the hilltops and through the valleys. Me being the angel of a child that I was, shot at them with my bb gun when they flew over.....ahh the memories.
